The phenomenal movie, 2012

Starring: John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton

2012 has become a phenomenal move in many countries. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

2012From his Universal Soldier and Stargate - both of which seemed madly over the top back in the early 90s - Emmerich went on to make Godzilla, Independence Day, and The Day after Tomorrow.
By sticking to a rigid formula - five or six intercut story lines, estranged husband emerges to save the day, and some vague nonsense about "love conquering all" - Emmerich has become one of Hollywood's most reliable cash-cows. He has only departed from formula a few times, with the risible The Patriot, and the laughably awful 10,000BC.

Synopsis: Roland Emmerich has given movie watchers several apocalyptic films in the past in INDEPENDENCE DAY and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, and he offers another look at the end of the world in 2012. This action film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Amanda Peet.

Review:

The sun goes berserk and starts to heat up the earth's mantle with mega bad results for the planet and all life - it's planet warming time not global warming here. The wealthy and politicos prepare to save themselves whilst the rest of mankind is kept in ignorance. The city footage of skyscrapers collapsing together are awesome and there's enough character development to hold a modicum of human interest between the epic scenes of global damage. Great escapist fun and the movie house cheered when the fat iconic Russian billionaire took a no returns swan dive.
