If this wasn’t a true story, it would seem incredibly pat and manipulative and impossibly rapid. The Blind Side was based on the book Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, by Michael Lewis, and follows the amazing story of Michael Oher from the underbelly of society to the spotlight. The story seems rushed, fueling its [...]

Funny People has some very funny moments but don't expect a joke fest. Adam sandler is my favorite actor and his act is the best in this film. But don't expect a tight film either. At two and a half hours, it is not one but two films and at least one of them shouldn't have been made. It's interesting stuff, I feel myself wanting to like it more than I did. Judd Apatow has a lot to say, he just hasn't mastered the tools to say it well.
Synopsis: Over the past few years, writer/director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) has shown that nothing?not even losing your virginity or the miracle of childbirth?is sacred. About his. Adam Sandler, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, RZA and newcomer Aubrey Plaza join a cast that reunites Judd Apatow with Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Jonah Hill in their third comedy together.
This sprawling and overlong buddy movie has a good heart but its head is probably suffering a hangover, judging by the rambling and swaying screenplay. A surfeit of the kind of crude, sexually graphic jokes that work in a darkly lit stand up comedy stores and Adam Sandler's unremittingly morose George drag the film down. (Is contempo American comedy solely reliant on penis jokes?) In the absence of wit we are given little of interest beyond the malaise of the central character: his terminal illness and the progress of his condition provides the plot engine, and is used to steer the action. At 40, George is feeling his age in a comedic world dominated by younger folk; he's also miserably, lonesomely rich. When he sees Ira work one of the non-paying comedy gigs, he hires him to write some gags, but we can't see why. Ira is not that funny. OK, let's say comedy is a personal thing, and they start to bond in a stop-start sort of way. Nothing much happens besides some banter between them and between Ira and his struggling comic friend Leo (Jonah King) and the more successful Mark (Jason Schwartzman) who makes $25,000 a week in a sitcom.
"Public Enemies" proves that Michael Mann is right up there with Martin Scorsese at directing compelling crime dramas. This film, based on a book detailing the nexus of John Dillinger, J. Edgar Hoover, and Melvin Purvis, covers the last year and a half in the life of the famed bank robber, who was branded "Public Enemy Number 1" by Hoover, who was building what would...
Not to say this is not a well-crafted movie with excellent performances. It is. It is also curiously one-sided and shallow like many movies about famous outlaws tend to be. The popular reaction to what the defiant anti-hero came to represent in depression-era America made it almost criminal to call him one. Public Enemies finds [Mann] a bit slower on his feet. The film lacks the narrative dexterity of Collateral and The Insider. And the end result veers between solid and stolid.
Synopsis: Johnny Depp and Christian Bale emerge from two of the biggest blockbuster series of all time (Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman, respectively) to star in this crime drama from HEAT director Michael Mann. Depp stars as charismatic 1930s gangster John Dillinger, whose notorious bank robberies have turned him into a celebrity during the Depression era. The rise in crime has J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) desperate to have his newly created FBI take down gangsters such as Dillinger, "Pretty Boy" Floyd (Channing Tatum), and "Baby Face" Nelson (Stephen Graham).
This is one of my favorite movie, its One Crazy summer. Its a drama comedy movie cast by sexy Demi moore, John Cusack and Curtis Amstrong. An aspiring teenage cartoonist and his friends come to the aid of a singer trying to save her family property from developers. It was a very interesting movie. Some of the early imagery... seems to suggest that anything is possible in this "crazy" universe, but the wrap-up is just so aggravatingly bland.
One Crazy Summer is not a serious film; it's a comedy with a cartoonish style, but it's a wonderful example of what such an exaggeratedly wacky movie should be. Starting on the foundation of the basic 1980s screwball comedy, it transcends the other B movies of that genre with its characters and its own unique laugh-out-loud moments.
With a name like Hoops McCann, he’s bound to get that basketball scholarship after high school, right? Wrong! What Hoops really wants to do is write and illustrate a love story. To help him find his way, his friend George invites Hoops to come with him and his sister to spend the summer on Nantucket. The friends Crazy Summer begins when they pickup Cassandra on the way–she’s being chased by a motorcycle gang. From here on in, it only gets crazier. Once on the island, Hoops and George, along with George’s island friends the Stork twins and Ack-Ack (son of a marine), must help Cassandra save her grandfather’s house from the greedy Beckersted Family. Along the way, Hoops must find a way to write his cartoon love story – and maybe a real one of his own.
John Cusack and Demi Moore are such charming personalities that they are appealing even in so silly a setting. There is a good chemistry between them. It would be interesting to see them make a film together, instead of being stock figures.

This is the second sequel of popular movie, The Transformer. Its Revenge of the Fallen. Transformer 2 is an action movie with great animation and visual effects.Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is like going to one of those chain all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants: The potatoes may be overbaked, the green beans limp and the beef lukewarm, but no way are you walking out of there hungry. This mindless, soulless sequel is sensory overload with barely a story, but it will still manage to please the teenage male demographic with constant, if confusing action.
Robot-wise, the big names from the first film are back, with plenty of Starscream/Megatron bitching and a completely insane opening sequence in Shanghai, with Optimus Prime duking it out with what appears to be a demented, giant unicycle. Optimus gets an upgrade here too, with glowing sword attachments that will bring tears to the eye of 30-something men everywhere.
Synopsis:
Synopsis: In the highly-anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, debuting June 24, 2009, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots® against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons®. Michael Bay directs from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman.
Review:
The films biggest problem is its choppy style, which shows up every flaw in the exo-skeleton. The movie tries a little too hard to be funny, with the always-value-for-money John Turturro fighting to keep his secret Agent wannabe afloat, and far, far too much comic relief. The idea of twins who talk in hip-hop rhymes may have been amusing in a cartoon when you were eight, but here it feels like overkill.
The movie was alright, but the ending was pretty weak. Also, this movie was based off the cartoon (apparently) and that was made for kids. That being said, there was far too much sexual shots and images completely innapropriate. The movie didn’t need that kind of imagry, and it just goes to show the director and writer of the movie lack imagination if they have to put that kind of garbage into their film. The acting was overdramatic, there were too many main villans and you couldn’t keep track of who was who. There was added humor where humor was unecessary, and ruined the scene. Lots, of repeition in fighting. You should not see this movie if you’re under 13 because it has certain scenes that are not appropriate for children, and unecessary pictures of girls. This movie got a D+/C- from the critics so clearly I’m not the only one who finds this movie bad. I reccomend you rent the movie on DVD as its a waste of money to see it in the theatre.
Starting with megan fox, shes good looking, apart from the slow motion running scene in the desert to make sure you stay seated (if your a 15 year old boy) there wasn’t much sexual content. Well, other then that crazy decepticon-girl which I agree was totally pointless. That was a poor choice in my oppinion. Whats the point of having that in, doesn’t add to the story 1 bit.
Then for the twins. My god, their special effects just look cheap compared to the other autobots. Big goofy cartoon eyes, obviously meant as comic relief but then again, where are all the other autobots? A few scenes with optimus, fewer with the rest of them. It was basically a story of the twins and bumblebee…with lots of humans which were also either there for sex appeal or comic relief. Sam was the only somewhat ’serious’ character in there. I mean come on, the main cast was: twins(comic relief), bumblebee(badass who got his voice back at the end of the first movie just to lose it again this movie and revert back to radioman), Megan Fox (eye-candy), conspiracy nutcase(can’t even remember his name), Sector 7 Johnie(comic relief), Shia who ofc played sam and was the only ‘real character.’ So 1 star, 4 comic relief, 1 eye candy… Makes you wonder how Micheal Bay figured out that would be a winning set-up. In the first movie at least you only had sector 7 as the comic relief, the rest were at least somewhat believable. Well, not really but still.
Ice Age 3 is one of my favorite movie. It has a very nice 3D effect, characters and many other good stuffs. There are many reviews I include in this post. Check this out. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs works on its own terms, as a distraction for the children and an inoffensive, if unfulfilling, time at the theater for their parents. If you want, you can download the Ice Age 3 Dawn of Dinosaur trailer movie or full movie torrent.
Ice Age 3 sees Manny the mammoth, Elle the lady mammoth, Diego the sabre toothed tiger and Sid the sloth venturing into a newly-uncovered lost world beneath the ice, where dinosaurs roam and the snow is nowhere to be seen. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs alters the pattern established by the previous two films, focusing not on the herd but on action-packed, 3-D adventure. The quality of the stories has gradually declined in each succeeding sequel since the original film was released in 2002, but the technical quality of computer animation has improved during that same time.
Synopsis: Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie are back in this third film in the computer-animated Ice Age series. With those creatures in starring roles, fans also get another dose of the vocal talents of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah, who are joined by SHAUN OF THE DEAD’s Simon Pegg. In ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAUR, Manny and Ellie are expecting their first baby, while Sid the sloth tries an unconventional way of starting a family that gets him into trouble. With all this talk of babies, Diego might be losing his saber-toothed edge, but a journey to save Sid may just turn the whole group into heroes. In addition to all that adventure, it wouldn’t be an Ice Age film if Scrat weren’t on a desperate hunt for an acorn, but he might get distracted by a shapely female squirrel.
The new G.I Joe; Rise of Cobra 2009 is the new movie by Paramount Pictures.
While fans of the Hasbro toy franchise may revel in a bit of nostalgia, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is largely a cartoonish, over-the-top action fest propelled by silly writing, inconsistent visual effects, and merely passable performances.
This movie is adapted from the famous cartoon series GI Joe. Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, whose previous collaboration was the worldwide blockbuster “Transformers,” join forces with Spyglass Entertainment for another extraordinary action-adventure “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.” From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos. “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.” is directed by Stephen Sommers (”The Mummy,” “The Mummy Returns”).
Light entertainment with little to call memorable ... but at least therein exists some detectable evidence that the filmmakers had a soft spot for G.I. Joe and simply wanted to deliver its essence to the screen. This isn't G.I. Joe so much as it's C.G.I. Joe, a nonstop orgy of computer imagery and pretty much what we'd expect from the director of the execrable Van Helsing and two dopey Mummy movies.
So, now you know, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is about as uncomfortable to sit through as running in a marathon with a bad case of the trots - and knowing is half the battle.

Lem is just an average teenager working on getting the girl and furthering his career at the local planetarium - except that he's an alien. At least to U.S. astronaut Captain Charles T. Baker who lands on Lem's planet hoping for a quick flag plant and a hasty return to earth and his millions of screaming fans. But on this alien planet the media has tagged spacemen as brain-eating, zombie-creating monsters, causing Baker to run for his life and into Lem's house. Now it's up to the green native to get the clumsy astronaut back to his spaceship before military dictator General Grawl and mad scientist Professor Kipple manage to exterminate the Earthly visitor.
The tables are turned in this animated sci-fi adventure featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese. In PLANET 51, an astronaut arrives on a distant planet, but he's not alone; he's surrounded by aliens who desperately fear invasion by...aliens.
“Planet 51’’ is most interesting as an attempt by the Spanish CGI company Ilion Animation to bootstrap its way into the big leagues by hiring Hollywood talent to write the script and perform the roles. The actors are all perfectly adequate (though I’d love to know what went through Cleese’s head), but no one at Pixaror DreamWorks Animation will lose sleep after seeing the brightly cluttered visuals here. You can’t buy wonder, and without it “Planet 51’’ is just one more throwaway toy.
Starring: John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton
2012 has become a phenomenal move in many countries. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
From his Universal Soldier and Stargate - both of which seemed madly over the top back in the early 90s - Emmerich went on to make Godzilla, Independence Day, and The Day after Tomorrow. By sticking to a rigid formula - five or six intercut story lines, estranged husband emerges to save the day, and some vague nonsense about "love conquering all" - Emmerich has become one of Hollywood's most reliable cash-cows. He has only departed from formula a few times, with the risible The Patriot, and the laughably awful 10,000BC.
Synopsis: Roland Emmerich has given movie watchers several apocalyptic films in the past in INDEPENDENCE DAY and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, and he offers another look at the end of the world in 2012. This action film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Amanda Peet.
Review:
The sun goes berserk and starts to heat up the earth's mantle with mega bad results for the planet and all life - it's planet warming time not global warming here. The wealthy and politicos prepare to save themselves whilst the rest of mankind is kept in ignorance. The city footage of skyscrapers collapsing together are awesome and there's enough character development to hold a modicum of human interest between the epic scenes of global damage. Great escapist fun and the movie house cheered when the fat iconic Russian billionaire took a no returns swan dive.
The Blind Side 2009 is produce by Warner Brothers. This movie is a drama based on a true story. Sandra Bullock is the actress for this new movie. "The Blind Side" depicts the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.
The Blind Side, the new Sandra Bullock movie, was just released to theaters this Friday November 20, 2009. The Blind Side also stars Michael Oher, Kathy Bates, Tim McGraw, and directed by John Lee Hancock. The Blind Side is the story of an American teenager in Memphis, whose father was murdered and whose mother was a crack addict, is shuffled through the public school system, despite his low grade point average and absenteeism. Synopsis:
We hear Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart)'s voice, quoting Friar Lawrence from "Romeo and Juliet": "These violent delights have violent ends.." and, although we don't know it yet, she is having a nightmare. She fights through a crowd of group of red cloaked strangers in the noon-day sun. She looks up to see a clock tower and the big hand that moves to 12:00. Suddenly she emerges from the woods into a glade of flowers, looking across to her grandmother (Christina Jastrzembska). Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) comes up behind Bella. She tries to warn him away, "Don't. She'll see you." He keeps approaching, however. She seems to welcome his decision to reveal himself and, as she takes his hand says, "Okay." They approach Bella's Grandma and Bella says, "Gran, I'd like you to meet Edward," but the words come out of the older woman, as well as Bella. She realizes it is her, older, wrinkled, and her Grandma is really her reflection, standing next to an eternally youthful Edward. He leans over and kisses her wrinkled forehead.
In the second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s TWILIGHT series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as BELLA SWAN (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, EDWARD CULLEN (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks. With the help of her childhood friend JACOB BLACK (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own. When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger.
User review:
didn't want to see this film because the previous one was lacking in... well... everything. But girlfriend wanted to see it. I went in and was instantly surprised to see the demographic had widened past 12-16 year old girls who instantly swoon at any even remotely hot guy so that was interesting. It's not relevant to how good the film was- it just reaffirmed to me (and should to all of you) that hating a series on principle or having preconceived notions of how bad something will be is unfair on it. Not in this case. It was still bad. BUT worth the money I payed to see it because though it most definitely not intended to be entertaining in the way I found it. It was full of melodramatic dialogue and bad acting which, if you take ANY Drama classes at school- Which Robert DIDN'T- you'll notice certain things about how people deliver lines. You notice how they're SAYING lines they have memorised with unnatural and stylised emphasis on the key words in the sentences without giving the (cheesy) dialogue depth or realism. Quite simply, it was so terrible I found myself resisting the urge to burst out laughing in a room full of fans who were probably misinterpreting the melodrama as "Good, emotional drama." No. This film is ridiculous.
